A century ago, Adrian was a factory town on the move. Streetcars rolled down Maumee Street through the heart of downtown, and the corner of Main and Maumee was where every line converged. Workers, families, travelers: everyone passed through this corner, and most of them stopped a while.
The trolley on our logo isn't decoration. It's a promise that this corner still does what it has always done — bring the town together.
"Adrian was a very bustling town with a lot of industry. We want to harness that energy."
101 E. Maumee has fed Adrian in more than one life — most recently as Rice and Barley Taphouse and a to-go kitchen for Reggies Tacos. In October 2024 we gave the brick corner a new purpose: a taproom + kitchen designed around gathering, with vintage streetcar tickets, postcards, and industrial memorabilia from Adrian's manufacturing heyday on the walls.
Executive Chef Nathan Stover leads a kitchen that takes comfort food seriously: scratch-made, seasonal, and sourced close to home. Mains stay true — the turkey pot pie isn't going anywhere — while starters rotate with the seasons and the farms we buy from. Gourmet-style comfort without fine dining prices; that's the whole idea.
We pour Michigan first: Pavlov's, Four Keys, and Tenacity on draft, Bell's alongside, and small-batch cocktails on tap — including an espresso martini made with Musgrove + Company espresso, roasted by our sister coffee shops in Adrian and Tecumseh. The Free Spirited menu means zero-proof guests never get an afterthought.
Maumee Street is a gathering place — where conversations happen, relationships grow, and the community gathers around food and drink. Whether it's date night, family supper, or one more round with old friends, you have a seat at the corner where Adrian has always met.
